Do you have students who:

Struggle with foundational reading skills?

Lack the ability to quickly and automatically recognize words?

Are not responding to the interventions you’ve tried and need a new approach?

WHAT IT IS

Access Code is a blended approach to reading intervention for students in grades two and above who persistently struggle with reading comprehension and fluency because they lack automatic word recognition skills.

Access Code is available in two versions: Elementary and Secondary. Both versions use the same scope and sequence and exploit the same powerful underlying learning model, the Varied Practice Model, to develop foundational skills. However, each uses a unique system of word lists, tasks and progression rules along with teacher-facilitated activities to support and challenge learners at all grade levels.
IT'S FOR STUDENTS WHO
  • Have difficulty breaking words into syllables
  • Have difficulty reading multisyllabic words
  • Have a particular challenge with vowels
  • Struggle with fluency and comprehension
  • Have not adequately responded to other interventions
  • Cannot apply and generalize skills to new contexts or connected text
HOW IT WORKS

The Varied Practice Model is a proven, robust learning model, which develops an understanding of the regularities and irregularities of the systems that underly foundational reading skills.
